IGA Hometown Healthy Challenge Prize Winner - Chris Davis

Chris Davis, a St. John’s IGA shopper and Vancouver resident, designated Portland Police Activities League (PAL) to receive the $5,000 donation on behalf of St. John’s IGA. PAL is a private non-profit youth organization that provides recreational, educational, athletic, and cultural activities for at-risk and low income youth. Programs are lead by paid staff, community volunteers and law enforcement officers. PAL's law enforcement partners include the Portland Police Bureau, Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, Gresham Police Department, FBI, Troutdale, Beaverton, Molalla and Fairview Police Departments, Port of Portland Police, Multnomah County District Attorney's Office and Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.  PAL keeps programs low or no cost, and is supported through donations from individuals, businesses and foundations.

“This is one of the most exciting things that has happened to our organization,” said Maura White, president and CEO of PAL. “This donation will allow us to continue to fund our summer sports camp programs and bring awareness to our community about childhood obesity. This truly is huge for us, and we’re so grateful to both Chris Davis and IGA for making this possible.”
