IGA APPOINTS NEW AREA DIRECTOR TO SUPPORT IGA EXPANSION IN THE WESTERN U.S.

CHICAGO, IL - IGA USA today announced a new area director has been appointed to support IGA’s expansion in the western United States. Terry Carr will begin his appointment effective immediately reporting directly to Doug Fritsch, IGA senior vice president, retail and business development.

Carr joins a team of four existing IGA area directors who work in the field to support IGA’s Retailers. Utilizing his vast experience in grocery industry operations and customer relations, Carr will work to advance IGA’s continued expansion in the western U.S. As a part of his duties, Carr will serve as a liaison between IGA USA and its wholesale and retail members, ensuring that the retailers receive the maximum benefit from IGA’s programs and the IGA Brand.

Carr spent the bulk of his 20 year grocery industry career working in various positions within Fleming Companies, Inc.  Throughout his tenure with Fleming he advanced from product development manager at the Fleming Foods Oklahoma City corporate office to a series of upper level management positions. In 2001 he assumed his final position within the company as president of Fleming Foods Phoenix division. In 2002 Carr purchased Pinnacle Business Systems, an Edmond, Okla.-based technology solution company, where he implemented operational and sales initiatives that resulted in a three-fold increase in company revenues.
